Reissuing Tickets with Automatic Exchange (Rapid Reprice)
Travelport Smartpoint uses the Ticket Exchange Plus script to reissue tickets. With Ticket Exchange Plus, you can request automatic exchange processing for tickets using the Travelport Rapid Reprice feature. If automatic exchanges are not available for the selected tickets, Ticket Exchange Plus also provides screens that allow you to manually exchange the tickets.
To reissue tickets with an automatic exchange, Ticket Exchange Plus:
- Reads the PNR history for previous ticket numbers and fares so that this information typically displays automatically and does not need to be entered.
- Uses historical data, current fares, and rules data to reprice a revised itinerary.
- Automatically displays any additional collection and change/penalty fee amounts.
Steps for Reissuing Tickets with Automatic Exchange (Rapid Reprice):
- Display a PNR with ticketed air segments.
- Check the Fare Rules to determine if flight changes are allowed and if a penalty fee applies.
- Make the required changes to the PNR.
- Open Ticket Exchange Plus.
After you open Ticket Exchange Plus, Smartpoint verifies if PNR qualifies for an automated exchange using Rapid Reprice or requires a manual exchange.
If the airline participates in Rapid Reprice and the PNR qualifies for automated exchange, the Ticket Exchange Plus - Rapid Reprice screen is displayed.
- Request repricing in the Ticket Exchange Plus - Rapid Reprice screen.
- Confirm the revised itinerary.
- Review final results for the repriced itinerary, including change fees and fare totals.
- Add exchange elements including form of payment and ticketing remarks.
- Confirm or adjust the ticketing entry.
Tip! You can change the default settings for Ticket Exchange Plus to match your most commonly used exchange processes. Your agency may also apply default settings based on preferred agency processes.
