Reissuing Tickets with Manual Exchange

If an airline or itinerary does not qualify for automatic exchange (Travelport Rapid Reprice), or you do not select the option for Rapid Reprice, you can use the manual exchange process in Ticket Exchange Plus.

Note: Worldspan does not validate fare rules when an exchange ticket is processed using the Ticket Exchange Plus manual process. It is the responsibility of the agent to check the fares rules prior to processing a manual exchange to determine the new fare and, if a penalty charge applies, how the penalty should be collected.

Steps for Reissuing Tickets with Manual Exchange

To reissue tickets with a manual exchange:

  1. Display a PNR with ticketed air segments.
  2. Check the Fare Rules to determine if flight changes are allowed and if a penalty fee applies.
  3. Make the required changes to the PNR.
  4. Open Ticket Exchange Plus.

After you open Ticket Exchange Plus, Smartpoint verifies if PNR qualifies for an automatic exchange using Rapid Reprice or requires a manual exchange.

  • If the airline participates in Rapid Reprice and the PNR qualifies for automatic exchange, the Reissue message is displayed.

If you choose, not to continue with the Click No to continue repricing with the manual exchange process.

  • If the airline does not participate in Rapid Reprice or the PNR does not qualify for automatic exchange, the Ticket Exchange Plus - Manual Display screen displays immediately.

  1. Request repricing in the Manual Process screen.
  2. Enter or confirm additional flight and fare information in the Flight Information and Taxes screen.
  3. Enter or confirm ticketing information in the Exchange Ticket Numbers screen.
  4. Adjusting the ticketing entry.
