Productivity Automator

Productivity Automator is a cloud-based solution that allows automated actions to be performed on queues, enabling repetitive, time-consuming tasks to be handled automatically by rules with specified criteria. It is accessed through MyTravelport via a single-sign-on, reducing the need to remember multiple passwords.

On the initial startup screen, the following can be reviewed:

Tabs

Productivity Automator has three tabs: Overview, PNR audit. and Reports.

  • The Overview tab lets you:

    • Create new rules easily following a simple 7 Step process: Setup, Triggers, Matched Actions, Unmatched Actions, Failure handler, Schedule, and Summary.
    • Allows you to edit, copy, and delete existing rules.
    • Allows rules to be activated across the desktop environment or the API environment.
    • Has a performance dashboard to monitor the impact to business.
    • Automate workflows for NDC booking schedule changes
  • The PNR audit tab lets you:
    • Search by PNR.

    • Access a log of actions executed by Productivity Automator, allowing for more detailed and effective troubleshooting.

    • Give users more transparency into their rules’ behavior.

  • The Reports tab lets you:
    • Review a report that looks at Productivity Automator’s execution activity.

    • Review a rule’s success rate, the number of PNRs that have been actioned, the number of times the rule has executed, the PCC(s) targeted by the rule, and the overall time saved.

    • Sort, filter, and review all executed rules.

    • See the total number of executions, number of processed PNRs, total time saved, and the total success rate.

Overview tab

The Overview tab lets you:

Rule Creation Flow

To create a rule on Productivity Automator, click the New Rule button and follow this seven-step process:

Rule Setup

The Rule Setup page lets you:

  • Name and describe the rule

  • Add rule tag (type of rule you are creating)

  • Add PCCs and Queue Numbers

  • Define Queue Category and Date Range

Triggers

The Triggers page lets you determine the criteria to trigger your rule.

Matched Actions

The Matched Actions page lets you choose what actions will be performed when your trigger(s) criteria matches your PNR and add a descriptive tag. Actions include:

  • Accept Changes

  • File Finish

  • NDC PNR Actions

  • Queue Actions

  • Send Email

  • Send Viewtrip Itinerary

  • Fares and Ticketing

  • Ticketing

  • Retention Line Segment

  • Ticket Revalidation

Unmatched Actions

The Unmatched Actions page lets you choose what actions will be performed on the PNRs that didn’t match the criteria defined in the Trigger(s) step of the rule creation flow. Actions include:

  • File Finish

  • Quality control notification

  • Queue actions

  • Send email

Failure handler

The Failure handler lets you choose what actions to be performed to handle rule exception failures. Failure actions include:

  • File Finish

  • Queue Actions

  • Send Email

Schedule

The Schedule page lets you choose when this rule should run, and can be set by:

  • Frequency

  • Dates

  • Days

  • Times

Summary

On the Summary page you can view and edit your rule. Productivity Automator checks if there are any conflicting conditions in your rule before finalizing the rule creation process. From here, you can publish a rule.

Automating workflows for NDC booking schedule changes

Previously, users could automate workflows for schedule changes on traditional GDS bookings, but NDC bookings were not supported. With version 1.16, Productivity Automator supports the automation of workflows for schedule changes on NDC bookings. To accomplish this, a new trigger, Schedule change - NDC, and a new action, NDC PNR Sync, have been introduced. The "Send email" action is also enhanced to support the sending of NDC schedule change updates.

NDC schedule changes look and behave differently to GDS schedule changes. With an NDC schedule change, the airline sends a message that a schedule change has happened, but the user is required to sync the Travelport PNR to the airline reservation to see what that change is.

For the best automated flow, the user should set up two rules: One to sync bookings that have schedule changes so that Smartpoint is able to access the bookings with their updated itineraries, and Two a second rule to manage any actions the user wishes Productivity Automator to execute on the bookings dependent on what the schedule change is.

PNR audit tab

The PNR audit tab lets users search by PNR and access a log of actions executed by Productivity Automator, which allows for more detailed and effective troubleshooting. It also gives users more transparency into their rules’ behavior.

Reports tab

The Reports tab displays a report table that lists Productivity Automator’s execution activity.

For a given rule, the report shows the rule’s success rate, the number of PNRs that have been actioned, the number of times the rule has executed, the PCC(s) targeted by the rule, and the overall time saved.

Settings

The Settings gear icon provides an interface to adjust the user settings. As of release 1.18, the only settings available are the CIDB (customer number) settings.
