Pricing Fares with Smartpanel
After you select an Flight Shopping option or Air Availability itinerary, you can use Smartpanel to price/fare quote and/or store fares for your selections. You can price fares as one ticket or individual tickets.
- For Air Availability, pricing is required to price the selected itinerary.
- For Flight Shopping:
- For Direct Payment Carriers, pricing is required after fare shopping to ensure that the most recent fares are quoted.
- For Network (GDS) Carries, pricing is strongly recommended after fare shopping. While a selected availability and pricing option can be booked without pricing for Network Carriers, it is best practice to price before booking to validate your selected pricing option.
To price an itinerary in Smartpanel:
- Select an Air Availability itinerary or book a Flight Shopping option.
- Open or display Smartpanel, if necessary.
- Click the Air Pricing tab to display the pricing and stored fare options for your selected itinerary. This tab is available only if your PNR/Booking File contains a booked itinerary.
- Select the desired pricing or stored fare radio button. Available options vary by GDS.

Tips!
- You can also use the Edit tab to change the departure, segment status, or booking code.
- Any changes made through the Smartpanel are automatically updated in the PNR/Booking File. You can also select Auto Refresh from PNR to automatically reflect any changes made directly to the PNR/Booking File in Smartpanel.
More InformationIf Auto Refresh from PNR is:
- Selected, Smartpoint continuously checks PNR/Booking File and automatically updates Smartpanel. However, this activity can cause Smartpoint to run a little more slowly.
- Not selected, Smartpanel is only refreshed on the tab that is displayed and active. For example, if you add new passengers, Smartpanel is not automatically updated.
However, if you choose not to use Auto Refresh, you can still manually update Smartpanel by clicking anywhere in the Smartpanel window/pane.
Known Issue: If the Auto Refresh from PNR is not select, and the Smartpanel updates after clicking into any field in the Smartpanel, then you need to must click a second time to actually enter data.
