Using Smartpanel

Smartpanel uses fill-in screens to provide advanced options to:

Tip! You can also access the Smartpoint Rail from a Rail tab in Smartpanel. This tab displays only if your agency is provisioned for the Smartpoint Rail component.

Smartpanel provides advanced search to:

  • Store complicated entries and modifiers.
  • Apply advanced search criteria, including multiple sectors and multiple passengers.
  • Request one search as one journey for split tickets and pricing.
    You can search for published, net, and private fares individually or jointly.
  • Create and apply itinerary templates.
    You can apply pre-set search parameters, such as classes of service, departure time windows, or account codes.

Opening Smartpanel

You can open Smartpanel in either the Classic Windows or Flex Windows themes. The Smartpanel screen also displays differently in each theme.

To open Smartpanel in Flex Windows, either:

  • Press ALT+T.
  • Enter the terminal format #FS.
  • Click the FS icon near the bottom of of the main Flex Windows menu.
  • Click the Search icon to select Smartpanel.

In Flex Windows, Smartpanel displays as a floating window in the middle of the screen.

You can:

  • Click and drag the Smartpanel title bar to move the window.
  • Click and drag any of the borders to resize the window.

To open Smartpanel in Classic Windows, either:

  • Press ALT+T.
  • Enter the terminal format #FS.
  • Click the FS icon in PNR Viewer action bar at the bottom of the Smartpoint application window.
  • From the Search menu, select Smartpanel.

In Classic Windows, Smartpanel is pinned as a pane to the lower left corner of the Smartpoint application window.

Smartpanel automatically displays when you open Smartpoint, However, you can click and drag the border arrow to reduce or increase the Smartpanel pane.
