What's New
New samples are available for the most common transactions.
See the What's New page for more information about new features in Universal API.
Introduction
Travelport Universal API offers an array of travel content for air, hotel, car, and rail, including ancillaries (optional services). It also provides functionality to build complete traveler, agency, branch, and account profiles.
Notes:
-
Travelport Universal API is referred to as SOAP XML API across Travelport development pages and announcements. Universal API and SOAP XML API are synonymous and is referred to as Universal API in this help system.
-
Travelport+ is the new name, and reference, to Galileo (1G). However, in this help system, Travelport+, as a GDS / CRS, is referred to as Galileo (1G).
When you are ready to start building your application with Universal API, the following sections of the help will provide background information, let you download the latest version of the Universal API WSDLs, show you how to set up your first request, and determine the end point(s) you need to use in your transactions.
Releases and Release Notes |
Universal API has new releases or updates several times per quarter. At that time, if a new schema is released, updated WSDLs that contain new functionality and improvements to existing functionality are provided. Release Notes for each release provide a brief explanation of new functionality and, depending on the amount of detail, may contain a link to a specific topic or topics that provides further information. |
Download of the latest WSDL and schema versions, and a downloadable list of schema differences. |
|
High-level instructions to get connected, basic workflows for Air, Hotel, and Vehicle processes, as well as information about sending requests, a comparison of Classic Travelport APIs versus Universal API, and sample transactions. Also provides information about content providers and suppliers, how Universal API works with Passenger Name Records (PNRs), how you can use Universal API with Travelport legacy APIs, and provides application design requirements and considerations. |
|
Provides SOAP end points for Universal API services by region. Services are divided into Production or Copy environments. |
|
Signing Up for Notifications | Provides instructions to sign up for Developer Advisory notifications that keep you informed of enhancements, outages, and more. |
Schema Support and Retirement
Travelport recommends updating to the latest version of the schema at least once per year if a new schema version is available to ensure you are not required to make a multi-year schema jump when a schema version is retired.
Important!
-
Universal API provides support for schema versions for up to three years. After the retirement date, transactions that are sent using retired schema versions may fail.
-
Effective January 23, 2025, the Travelport Universal API schema retirement process is being put on hold temporarily.
-
While it is encouraged to upgrade to the latest schema to take advantage of new functionality, Travelport will not mandate that applications are upgraded to a newer version at this time.
-
Once a decision is made to reinstate the process, users will be notified well in advance of any schema version(s) considered for retirement and when they will be retired.
-
Travelport appreciates the efforts of those who have updated their applications to use the latest version prior to this updated notice.
-
Please reach out to your Travelport representative should you have any questions.
