Travelport Administrative Portal

The Travelport Administrative Portal (or Travelport Admin Portal) is used by Universal Desktop Administrators, stand-alone Universal API customers, and Universal Desktop users.

The Travelport Admin Portal can be accessed at https://adminuniversaldesktop.travelport.com.

Note: Each Travelport Admin Portal user group has different options available to them and may not see each menu item or function described in this help system.

Universal Desktop Administrators

For Universal Desktop Administrators, the Travelport Admin Portal is used to configure Universal Desktop and manage their hierarchies. For Universal Desktop Administrators, some administrative functionality is available through Universal Desktop, while other Universal Desktop menu options launch the Travelport Admin Portal. Any Universal Desktop menu option with the launch icon () opens the Travelport Admin Portal when selected. See Travelport Admin Portal for Universal Desktop Administrators for more information.

Universal API Users

For stand-alone Universal API customers (i.e., customers who are not also provisioned for Universal Desktop), the Travelport Admin Portal is used to manage profiles, provider credentials, printer linkages, and security. See Travelport Admin Portal for Universal API for more information.

Universal Desktop Users

Universal Desktop users are able to download Universal Desktop and change their password through the Admin Portal.

Key Concepts

The following are key concepts that Agency Administrators must understand within the Universal Desktop and Universal API products:

  • Hierarchy is a collection of hierarchy levels. Each hierarchy level defines a kind of profile the agency has. Hierarchy levels define the permitted relationships among profiles. Each hierarchy level has an associated template.

  • Profiles are a collection of data that identifies an entity. Profiles can be created for agency groups, agencies, branch groups, branches, agents, accounts, traveler groups, or travelers.

  • Templates define the kind of data permitted within a profile at a particular hierarchy level.

  • Roles provide a set of permissions for a user.
