Displaying Seat Maps

There are several methods for displaying seat maps.

Using the Seat Map Script

The Seat Map Script is one method to display seat maps that allows you to search from either:

  • Your selected or booked segment.
  • Other flights in the same Air Availability or Fare Shopping display.
  • Flight details from other flights

Viewing Seat Maps Before Booking

You may be able to view seat maps before the PNR is end transacted. This capability depends on the carrier, and whether a price is associated with the seat.

Assigning Seats

There may be differences in the availability of seat maps depending on the carrier and also whether your seat map request is made before or after booking. See Viewing Seat Maps Before Booking for more information.

Assigning Free Seats

Use the seat map to assign unpaid seats.

Assigning Paid Seats

Use the seat map to assign paid seats, which are purchased as ancillary services.

Requesting Airline-Assigned Seats

Use the seat map to request airline-assigned seats if the traveler does not require specific seat selection.

Note: If you do not request specific seat numbers, Worldspan assumes that the passenger prefers a window seat for all confirmed air segments.  If no window seats are available, Worldspan assigns an aisle seat, followed by a middle seat.

If more than one passenger is booked in a PNR, at least one window seat is assigned along with any adjacent seats, if available.

Viewing Assigned Seats

After seats are assigned, they are displayed in the PNR Viewer.
