Pre-Production Credentials on Universal API

You can request access to our Pre-Production system to begin developing your Travelport Universal API client application. During the Pre-Production development phase, Travelport will work in conjunction with you to certify your client application. If you choose, you can request 30-Day Trial credentials to test Universal API prior to requesting access to Pre-Production.

The Pre-Production system includes the same functionality as our Production system, but data, such as prices and availability, may differ slightly from the Production data. The Pre-Production data is refreshed regularly, and is a partial copy of the “live data” from our Production system. Please note that this system is intended to provide a platform to evaluate the functionality of our product, and should not be used as an indicator of performance or accuracy. Our Pre-Production system typically has slower response times than our Production system.

Signing a Contract

If you know you want to use Universal API to create a travel application, contact your Travelport representative to get started and receive credentials.

Travelport supplies a User ID and password for you to get started. The User ID identifies the email address for the agency or other travel provider, as well as the for the submitting entity (person or system) associated with the address. The User ID is mapped to a Pseudo City Code (PCC) that is associated with the submitting entity.

See Sample Request and Response for a sample of a credentialed transaction with Universal API.

Note: Because some Universal API providers require a lead time to activate a new customer, even for testing, it may take several days to fully provision your account.

See the Travelport Universal API Certification Process for instructions and details.

Getting Started with Development

After you have completed contract requirements, to begin the development process:

  1. The developer admin receives four documents:

    1. Invite Letter from My Travelport for the Developer Admin

    2. Welcome letter to SOAP XML (Universal API)

    3. Two encrypted emails with pre-production credentials:

      • User ID and Branch Code

      • Password.

  2. It is always advisable to include a logging facility in your own application; however, the Profile Tool can also be used for short periods of time to capture XML requests/responses or to obtain details about your process flow.
  3. After your development is complete, you can finalize the Universal API Certification process.

See Certification and Testing Best Practices for more details.
