Hotel Rate and Rule Search Modifiers

By default, the request is for one adult traveler.

• Use HotelDetailsModifiers @NumberOfAdults to specify more than one adult.
• Use HotelDetailsModifiers/NumberOfChildren to specify child travelers.

The maximum number of adults or occupants for a room rate varies by the room type. However, in a standard quad room, the typical maximum of adult occupants is four. Some suppliers may allow additional children to be lodged in the room.

Implementation Details

Universal API supports a maximum of nine occupants per booking (four adults and five children).

@TotalOccupants

In Release 6.1 (Hotel v26.0), Worldspan support @TotalOccupants, which indicates the total number of travelers in the booking, inclusive of both adults and children. This value may be used in place of @NumberOfAdults and /NumberOfChildren.

Note: This attribute is not supported by Galileo and Apollo.

Errors and Warnings

• If the Total Occupants value is greater than the Number of Adults and Number of Children combined, an error is returned: TotalOccupants cannot be greater than sum of Number of Adults, Number of Children.
• If a hotel chain does not support Total Occupants, an error is returned: TOC- NOT SUPPORTED FOR CP.
• If a provider does not support Total Occupants, the modifier is ignored and an error is returned: Total Occupants was ignored, not supported by provider.

NumberOfChildren

NumberOfChildren is used to indicate children and their corresponding ages in the booking.

The number of children must be entered first in the Count attribute, followed by the child age. The child count must include one age for each child listed in the number of children.

Notes:

• If a child or children are added to a request, additional bed types, such as adult and/or child rollaway beds and/or cribs, may also be required.
• Worldspan do not always support NumberOfChildren, based on the supplier. If it is submitted, but not supported, an error is sent in the response.
• Worldspan do not support Age for children.

Response

Only properties with availabilities for the requested number of travelers are returned.

By default, the request is for one room. Use HotelDetailsModifiers @NumberOfRooms to request more than one room.

Only properties with availabilities for the requested number of rooms are returned.

Use HotelDetailsModifiers/LoyaltyCard to include a loyalty program identifier, also known as frequent traveler or frequent guest identifier.

Implementation Details

Up to four instances of LoyaltyCard can be included in the request, although not all providers support this maximum. Include the following:

• @SupplierCode to identify the hotel chain associated with the loyalty membership.

• @CardNumber with the Loyal Program member's ID. This ID is assigned by the Loyalty Program supplier.

• The optional SupplierType is either Air or Hotel.

@SupplierCode requirements vary by hotel supplier. For more information, refer to Hotel Loyalty Programs.

Response

Only properties owned by the specified hotel chains are returned. The room rates returned in the response are based the Loyalty Program rates provided by the requested chain.

Use HotelDetailsModifiers/CorporateDiscountID to specify a corporate discount, Travelport Exclusive Rate, and/or negotiated rate code between an organization and a vendor.

If the requested Corporate Discount IDs or negotiated rate code is not valid for the PointOfSale (PCC/SID) value, the modifier is ignored in the request and not processed as a modifier.

Implementation Details

• For negotiated rates, @NegotiatedRateCode attribute must be set to 'true'.

• For Travelport Exclusive Rates, use CorporateDiscountID @NegotiatedRateCode="4TM" or "4TJ".

  Note: Travelport Exclusive Rates can be returned in conjunction with any additional rate access codes included in the request. To ensure that all rate access codes in the request are processed and sent to the hotel provider, set HotelDetailsModifiers @ProcessAllNegoRatesInd="true".

• For corporate discount IDs, @NegotiatedRateCode attribute must be blank.

One corporate discount ID is supported in a single request for all providers. However, the number of supported Negotiated Rate codes varies by provider.

Use HotelDetailsModifiers/HotelBedding to search for rooms with a specific bed type or number of beds. The option to search by bed type or number of beds can vary depending on the provider and supplier.

Use HotelDetailsModifiers/RateCategory to return specific categories, such as Senior Citizen, Government, Weekend, Corporate, or Tour. Unlike Negotiated Rates and Corporate Discount IDs, Rate Categories are publicly available, provided the traveler meets the parameters of the requested Rate Category. The number and type of rate categories allowed varies by provider. See Hotel Rate Categories for details.

Galileo and Apollo support up to 8 rate categories in a request. Worldspan support up to 5 categories. For supported Worldspan suppliers, the Rate Category associated with a corresponding booking code is returned in RatePlanType @RateCategory.
