Canceling Bookings
Because Universal API has several "layers" of bookings, cancellations can be performed at either the Universal Record level and/or the PNR level, depending on the segment type, provider, and supplier for a specific booking.
-
Canceling individual travel segments in a PNR, while retaining the Universal Record can be performed either directly in the PNR or through the Universal Record.
-
Canceling an entire journey (the complete Universal Record) is performed through the Universal Record.
-
Passive segments can also be canceled via the PNR or deleted in the Universal Record.
Note: Airline Content Hub (ACH) and Rail bookings are an exception and cannot be cancelled through the Universal Record. Booked ACH and Rail segments can be modified only through the PNR as an exchange or refund, if the supplier permits that functionality.
