Canceling Hotel Bookings
There are two ways to cancel a hotel reservation:
- Canceling the hotel booking using HotelCancelReq, which cancels the reserved hotel segment, but retains the associated Universal Record.
HotelCancelReq should be used if there are multiple reservations in a Universal Record, and only the hotel reservation will be canceled. HotelCancelReq should NOT be used if the hotel reservation is the only booking in the Universal Record. In this case, the hotel reservation is canceled but an orphaned Universal Record remains that contains no PNR booking records.
- Canceling the entire journey using UniversalRecordCancelReq, which cancels the Universal Record and all PNRs (booking records) contained in that Universal Record.
UniversalRecordCancelReq should only be used if all reservations in the itinerary will be canceled.
See Universal Records and PNRs for more information about the relationship between PNR booking records and Universal Records.
