Selling Flights from Availability

Branded Fares

Air Availability results may be returned with branded fares, which provide specific service offerings are associated to each brand.

To book a branded fare:
  1. Make an Air Availability search to display the available response.

    If an airline supports branded fares, the Branded Fares icon is displayed below the line of flight information.

    Note: The icon indicates that the airline supports branded fares, but does not indicate that branded fares apply to a specific flight or market.
  2. Click the Branded Fares indicator for the selected flight. For multi-segment flights, the indicator is display only in the first segment of the flight.

    Tip! Sponsored Flights only. If you click the class of service for a flight with branded fares, the Branded Fares screen is automatically displayed. For Sponsored Flights, you can skip the step of selecting <<B>>.

    The Brands and Ancillaries window is displayed. Available brands and corresponding classes of service for this flight segment are displayed in the left pane of the window. Brand descriptions and available ancillaries (optional services)are also displayed.

  3. Optional. Select a fare brand to detailed information for that brand.

  4. Optional. In Ancillaries, click on an ancillary icon to view details about that ancillary service (optional service). See Ancillary Service Shopping for more information about selecting ancillaries for both branded and unbranded fares.

  5. Optional. Select the MATRIX tab to view a comparison of the available Fare Families in a table format.

  6. After you choose a brand, click a class of service for that brand to book the flight. Note that the selected class of service and number of passengers is displayed in the lower left corner.

    Note: The airline may not provide classes of service associated to a specific brand. In the Classes of Service section, all classes of service associated to the flight may be associated with unbranded fares, a single branded fare, or multiple branded fares. Verify at pricing/fare quote.
  7. If there are connecting flights, click the tab for any additional segments.

  8. After you have selected the class of service for all segments, click CLOSE to exit the Brands and Ancillaries screen.

  9. Repeat Step 2 to Step 8 for any additional flights in the itinerary.

  10. After all flights in the itinerary are booked, price the itinerary. The base entry is FQ (Travelport+) or $B (Apollo). You can also price by a specific brand level.

    The pricing information is displayed. This example shows a Booking File in Travelport+ (1G), but the same data is available in an Apollo PNR.

    In this example, the Comfort brand, which is the third tier level for this Delta flight (BF3) is indicated in the fare quote. Pricing and brand modifiers are included in the fare.

Next Steps

  • Optional. Smartpoint 8.2 and later. After booking, you can open a view-only version of the Brands and Ancillaries screen from the stored fare in the PNR/Booking File.

  • Optional. If brand tiers are available for the selected fare family, you have the option to upsell to another tier.
