Hotel Rate and Rule Search for Rate Plan Only
A Rate Plans Only indicator in the Hotel Rate and Rule Search request returns an abridged response that contains only availability and rate information. Descriptive data and detailed hotel rules are not returned.
Because less data is returned with this modifier, higher performance rates can be expected for Worldspan responses than are returned with full Hotel Rate and Rule Search data. However, as with all Rate and Rule Search responses, the exact amount and type of data returned can vary widely by the supplier chain and property.

Request
HotelDetailsReq is used to request Hotel Rate and Rules search responses with Rate Plans only.
In HotelDetailsModifiers @RateRuleDetail must be set to “RatePlansOnly”.
- If @RateRuleDetail=“Complete”, a full Hotel Rate and Rule Search response is returned with availability, rates, and descriptive data.
- If @RateRuleDetail=“None” or is empty, a Hotel Description response is returned with only descriptive information, and no availability or rate information.
- If @RateRuleDetail=“RatePlansOnly”, an abridged Hotel Rate and Rule Search for Rate Plans Only response is returned with only availability and rates, but no descriptive data.
All other request data is the same as used for a standard Hotel Rate and Rule Search request.
Response
The response is returned in HotelDetailsRsp.
When the RatePlanOnly indicator is set in the request, the response returns abridged information without descriptive content. For this response, the following data is returned HotelDetailsRsp:
- HotelProperty @Name @HotelChain @HotelCode @HotelLocation.
More InformationAs of release 17.1, the long form of the property name is returned in mixed case, rather than the short form in upper case. For example, DBLTREE TALLAHASSEE is returned as Doubletree By Hilton Tallahassee. If the long form of the name is unavailable, the short form is returned.
This enhancement applies only to Galileo (1G) and Apollo (1V).
- An abridged version of HotelProperty @Address, with street address information removed.
- HotelRatePlanType (/RateByDate may be returned if prorated rate information is returned for that hotel property.)
- HotelRateDetail
- Booking Code/Rate Plan (@RatePlanType)
- Abridged RoomRateDescription content, which is typically limited a basic room description for the booking code and limited cancellation information. For detailed rules and policy information for a specific booking code, a subsequent Hotel Rules transaction is required.
- HotelDetailItem, but only for Negotiated Rate Codes (Name="Negotiated Rate Code(s) Requested"), if applicable.
The following data is returned in a standard Hotel Rate and Rule Search response, but is NOT returned in the Rate Plans Only response:
-
HotelProperty/PropertyAddress/Address
-
HotelProperty/PhoneNumber
HotelProperty/Distance
- HotelDetailItem, except Negotiated Rate Code information, when applicable.
Additional optional data may also be returned, but is not specific to the Rate Plans Only response.
