Fare shop without a booked itinerary

HELP FS or H/FS

Fare shop can be used when there is no booked itinerary. You must specify the travel details after the FS function identifier. Fare shop will look for lower options. Ideally, modifiers would need to be added.

Note: When a traveler name is in the booking file prior to entering a Fare Shop search and booking a pricing option, a filed fare is stored. If no traveler name is in the booking file prior to the Fare Shop booking, no filed fare is stored, so pricing entries should be done after adding names.

The basic entry starts with routing and dates, but optional entries can be added to tailor the shop request to your customers’ requirements.

Note: A number of modifiers can be used in the Fare Shopping entry to limit the results to your preferences. Type H/FS to learn about them or refer to interactive fare shop modifiers.

Example: FSMAD15NOVDOH30NOVMAD

Note: When this entry is run, the left panel displays the Flight Search template for a graphical mode search. See the Storefront module for details.

Components of the results are explained below:

Filter and sort results

By default, the results are sorted by direct flights. Select the sort icon () if you prefer to sort them by departure time or journey time.

You can filter fare shop results in the terminal view by selecting the filter icon ().

When selected, a filter panel opens on the left. Select which filters you want to apply to the fare shop results.

  • If non-stop and connecting flights are in the results, select Show non-stop flights only to filter out connecting flights.

  • If one of the cities has multiple airports, remove the check marks from the airports you want to filter out. In the following example, the city code NYC could return results from three airports. Deselect which airports you do not want to display in the results.

  • Use the departure and arrival time sliders to filter out certain times.

  • Airlines that are available in the result display in the list of providers. Deselect which providers you want to filter out of the results.

  • To remove all filters, select the Reset button at the bottom of the panel. Filters also clear when you enter an ignore format (IR or ER).

  • When filters are applied to fare shop results, the Filter icon displays with a check mark in a red circle ().

Additional itinerary options

A “Pricing Option” is a unique fare and itinerary option. The same fare and routing may have more than one itinerary option. This is indicated at the bottom of a pricing option More* followed by option number. Indicates that there is an additional itinerary option on the same fare and routing.

Press +3to view other itinerary options.

As it is a preview, there is no option to book any seat from this fare shopping environment.

The “Go back” button will return to the terminal window with the interactive fare shopping response.

Note: If the airline does not offer seat map, an error response will be displayed.
