Fare shop with a booked itinerary

HELP FSBF or H/FSBF

Fare shop can also be used when there is a booked itinerary considering the dates and itinerary. You must specify the travel details after the FS function identifier.

Fare shop prices a booked itinerary at the lowest available fare and searches schedules and fares to find the lowest priced alternative itineraries.

Once you have a booked itinerary, type FS to start.

Example booked itinerary:

Example screen response:

If a flight option with a lower fare is found, a Rebook link displays for your existing flight option, as well as a message Lower fare available.

If the flight segments you already booked are the lowest available, a Store Fare link displays, as well as a message Lowest fare already booked. If you click Store Fare, the fare is stored and a file fare is created for each traveler in the booking file.

The list below explains important components of the result screen. The rest of the interactive components of the screen are the same as those explained in the Fare Shop without a booked itinerary section in this module.

  • PRICING OPTION 1– BOOKED ITIN identifies the booked itinerary. The booked itinerary is always Option 1. Options 2 and beyond are listed from the lowest to highest price, regardless of the airline.

  • REBOOK cancels the existing booking and rebooks in the new option.

Note: Fare shop results now include OB fees (ticketing and credit card fees), whenever applicable, as part of the grand total. The form of payment must be stored in the BF or the FP modifier with the first 6 digits of the credit card to return the fees. The FQ response will also include a breakdown of the fees that is part of the fare total.

  • BOOK adds the selected pricing option to the booking file without cancelling the existing segments.

Select REBOOK to book the new option.

Fare shop automatically deletes the original itinerary.
