Interactive Fare Shop (FS)
Tip: The Travelport+ format online help contains cryptic entries, a printable mini guide, and conversions between Travelport+ and other GDS entries for common requests.
The Fare Shop terminal entry (FS) is supported, and the response is interactive. From the Fare Shop entry, you can:
-
Save a flight option to Trip Quote.
-
Display fare rules.
-
View and book brands available from the carrier.
-
Filter and sort shop results.
-
Display a seat map.
-
Fare shop as booked to store a fare or rebook another fare option.
-
Book and rebook selected brands
Notes:
-
When a traveler name is in the booking file prior to entering a Fare Shop search and booking a pricing option, a filed fare is stored. If no traveler name is in the booking file prior to the Fare Shop booking, no filed fare is stored.
-
When shopping for multiple legs, if you select different brands for each leg, you may get a warning that mixed brands may not be combinable or you may get an error that the chosen brands cannot be combined.
For example, the entry FSNYC19JANLON returns pricing options.
-
Select +TQ to add the option to Trip Quote.
-
Select R to display the fare rules menu.
Select a category to display the rules for that section. Select Go back to return to the fare shop results.
-
To display the brands offered by the carrier for a pricing option, select the price to open the brand details screen.
The brand options for that carrier display with the options included for each brand. To select a different brand, select the price button beneath the brand name.
Select the Book button to book the brand.
Filter and sort results
By default, the results are sorted by direct flights. Select the Sort () icon if you prefer to sort them by departure time or journey time.
You can filter availability and fare shop results in the terminal view by selecting the Filter () icon.
When selected, a filter panel opens on the left. Select which filters you want to apply to the fare shop results.
-
If non-stop and connecting flights are in the results, select Show non-stop flights only to filter out connecting flights.
-
If one of the cities has multiple airports, remove the check marks from the airports you want to filter out. In the example above, the city code NYC could return results from 3 airports. Unselect which airports you do not want to display in the results.
-
Use the departure and arrival time sliders to filter out certain times.
-
Airlines that are available in the result display in the list of providers. Uncheck which providers you want to filter out of the results.
-
To remove all filters, select the Reset button at the bottom of the panel. Filters also clear when you enter an ignore format (IR or ER).
-
When filters are applied to fare shop results, the Filter icon displays with a check mark in a red circle ().
Display seat map
You can preview a seat map from fare shop results. The seat map is view only; seats cannot be booked.
-
In a terminal window, enter a fare shop request (e.g., FSBCN10NOVSYD20NOVBCN).
-
From the results, select an aircraft type code to display the seat map.
Note: If the airline does not offer seat maps, a warning displays. -
The seat map displays. Hover over a seat to view seat information.
-
Select the Go back button at the top of the seat map to return to the fare shop results.
Fare shop as booked
Once you have selected (booked) a flight option, you can enter FS in the terminal to fare shop as booked to look for a lower fare option in the same class as booked.
-
If the flight segments you already booked are the lowest available, a Store Fare link displays, as well as a message Lowest fare already booked. If you click Store Fare, the fare is stored and a file fare is created for each traveler in the booking file.
-
Select Rebook to replace the currently booked segments with a different flight option.
-
If a flight option with a lower fare is found, a Rebook link displays for your existing flight option, as well as a message Lower fare available.
