Before you begin

Before you begin using the European Rail tool, please confirm that:

Provisioning

European Rail is available for provisioned PCCs only. If a PCC is not provisioned, an error message is displayed when you attempt to access European Rail.

As part of the provisioning process, access is required to:

  • Trainline

  • Smartpoint Cloud

Provisioning for Smartpoint Cloud also is also required to access European Rail. This provisioning is required Smartpoint Desktop customers, even if your agency is not currently using Smartpoint Cloud for general booking.

The following requirements to access the European Rail plugin. Please contact your Travelport representative for more information.

Requirement Details

Travelport Smartpoint Desktop 11.2 or later, if applicable.

If accessed from Smartpoint Desktop, Travelport Smartpoint Desktop 11.2 or later is required.

If accessed from Smartpoint Cloud, a specific version is not required because this product web-based product is updated dynamically.

Access to Travelport+ (1G)

The European Rail plugin is not supported for Apollo (1V) or Worldspan (1P).

Provisioning for Smartpoint Cloud

Please note that provisioning Smartpoint Cloud is required to access European Rail. This provisioning is also required for Smartpoint Desktop customers, even if your agency is not currently using Smartpoint Cloud for general booking.

Provisioning for European Rail

The European Rail plugin is only available for provisioned PCCs. A Travelport-specific contract with Trainline for carrier access is part of the provisioning process.

Access to MyTravelport An account on MyTravelport customer portal is required for agents. For more information, see Access MyTravelport in the MyTravelport Help.
Team Lead User access

As part of the provisioning process, Travelport assigns a Team Lead from your agency with administrative access to add and manage other users for your agency.

European Rail itineraries may display in Viewtrip. However, these itineraries should be disregarded because the schedule data may be inaccurate.

 
Groups Group bookings are not supported. A maximum of 9 passengers is supported in a single booking for both the Rail tool and Travelport+. Group bookings of more than 10 or more passengers are not currently planned for future releases.
