The SARA (Sistema de acreditación de residencia automático) plugin is used by Spanish agents to:

  • Validate subsidized travel rates available to Spanish residents who live in certain Spanish jurisdictions, such as islands and overseas territories.

  • Add family discount details for passengers who have larger families or otherwise qualify for a Large Family Card (tarjeta familia numerosa).

Tip! When applicable, SARA can be used to validate passengers who qualify for both the regional resident subsidy and the large family discount.

  • Be sure to log in to the Knowledge Base with your MyTravelport user name and password.

  • Confirm the language in the Knowledge Base is set to Spanish/Español. If another language is selected, these articles may not display.

Enabling and Disabling SARA with Assisted Ticketing

In Smartpoint 10.1 and later, the SARA plugin can communicate with Assisted Ticketing (SAT), so agents can add residency information from SARA. Agents can then issue a ticket with residency information through Assisted Ticketing. Agents can also perform the other ticketing functions available through Assisted Ticketing, such as voids, refunds, and exchanges.

To enable SARA with Assisted Ticketing (SAT):

Enter #SARAON to enable communication between SARA and Assisted Ticketing. This entry is required only one time.

The system confirms that SARA-SAT communication is enabled.

Tip! If SARA is not enabled when you open Assisted Ticketing, an option to enable is displayed.

To disable SARA with Assisted Ticketing (SAT):

Enter #SARAOFF.

The system confirms that SARA-SAT communication is disabled.

Using SARA with Assisted Ticketing for Residency Information

This example issues a ticket with SARA information. However, SARA is also integrated with other ticketing functions available through Assisted Ticketing, such as voids, refunds, and exchanges.

To integrate SARA residency information:
  1. Complete Customer Information for the passengers.

    Important! Do not include a title, such as SR or SRA, for the passenger name.

  2. From the HERRAMIENTAS (Tools) menu, select Información de residencia to open the SARA plugin.

    The Información de residencia screen is displayed.

  3. Enter the residency information for each passenger.

  4. Click GUARDAR to save the residency information.

  5. In Smartpoint, search for and select flights from availability or fare shopping.

  6. Complete a fare quote and end transact.

  7. Click the Assisted Ticketing icon to open the Assisted Ticketing window.

    Tip! You can also ticket using terminal formats.

  8. In the Issue My Ticket tab, complete the ticketing information and click ISSUE TICKET - TKP. The system redisplays the Información de residencia screen to confirm residency information.

  9. Click GUARDAR to confirm the residency information and close the screen.

    After ticketing is completed, a confirmation message is displayed.

    Tip! Depending on the level of validation, passengers may need to provide identification at check-in.
  10. End transact (ER) the Booking File.

Using SARA with Assisted Ticketing for Large Family Discounts

This example issues a ticket with larger family discount information. However, SARA is also integrated with other ticketing functions available through Assisted Ticketing, such as voids, refunds, and exchanges.

To integrate SARA residency information:
  1. Complete Customer Information for the passengers.

    Important! Do not include a title, such as MR or MRS, for the passenger name.
  2. From the HERRAMIENTAS (Tools) menu, select Información de Familia numerosa to open the SARA plugin.

  3. The Información de familia numerosa screen is displayed.

  4. Enter the required family discount information for each passenger.

  5. Click GUARDAR to save the information.

  6. In Smartpoint, search for and select flights from availability or fare shopping.

  7. For the selected fare, complete a fare quote and end transact.

  8. Click the Assisted Ticketing icon to open the Assisted Ticketing window.

  9. In the Issue My Ticket tab, complete the ticketing information and click ISSUE TICKET - TKP.

  10. End transact (ER) the Booking File.
