Using the Edit Agent Commission File Screen

GlobalWare's Edit Agent Commission File function accesses the Edit Agent Commission File screen, which enables you to:

Add agents and set up their commissions – See Adding Agent Commission Setups.
Modify agent commission setups – See Editing Agent Commission Setups.
Delete agent commission setups – See Deleting Agent Commission Setups.
Clone the commission setups of an agent to a new agent – See Cloning Agent Commission Setups.

Accessing the Edit Agent Commission File Screen

To access the Edit Agent Commission File screen, on the Commission submenu, click Edit Agent Commission File.

The Edit Agent Commission File screen appears.

Field and button descriptions

The following table describes the fields on the Edit Agent Commission File screen. With the exception of Name Contains, these fields are view only.

Field

Description

Name Contains

To refine the list of agents listed in the Agent box, type a full or partial agent name in this field. As you type, agent names are immediately listed in order of search relevance. For example, if you type "ja", name results starting with "ja" appear first, and then other results containing "ja" follow (for example, "James Smith" and "Mark Rijas"). Case sensitivity does not apply.

Agent box

List of agents with defined travel types for commissions. Select an agent to view the agent's commission setup in the Defined Travel Types grid.

Agent (in grid)

Sine code of the agent.

Tvl

Type of travel for which the agent receives commission.

Type of dates shown in the Start and Stop fields. Possible date types are:

Date Type	Description
I	Invoice dates.
T	Travel (departure) dates.
R	Commission received dates (commission received from provider).
C	Cash received dates (payment received from customer).

Pref Prov

Preferred provider status specified for this defined travel type. Possible preferred provider statuses are:

Preferred Provider Status	Description
A	All provider statuses (includes Neutral, Preferred, and Discouraged).
D	Discouraged provider status.
N	Neutral provider status (neither Preferred nor Discouraged).
O	Other non-preferred provider status (includes both Neutral and Discouraged)
P	Preferred provider status.

Start

Beginning date of a range of dates during which the agent can receive commissions. This date is used in conjunction with the Stop date to define a range. The DT field indicates the type of date used.

Stop

Ending date of a range of dates during which the agent can receive commissions. This date is used in conjunction with the Start date to define a range. The DT field indicates the type of date used.

Method of calculation for booking agent commissions.

Calculation Method	Description
B	Base fare calculation method. Percentages are multiplied by the base fare in the invoice items where the agent's sine code appears in the appropriate field. For example, if 2.00 is in the Amount field and the base fare is $500.00, the agent’s commission is $10.00.
C	Commission calculation method. Percentages are multiplied by the commission amount in the appropriate invoice items. For example, if 25.00 is in the Amount field and the commission amount is $50.00, the agent's commission is $12.50.
F	Fixed amount calculation method. Amount of commission for any appropriate invoice item is the dollar amount entered in the Amount field. For example, if 0.50 is in the Amount field, the agent receives 50 cents for each appropriate invoice item.

Amount (for the Bk field)

Amount used by the method of calculation specified in the Bk field. This is a percentage amount for base fare and commission methods of calculation, or a monetary amount for the fixed amount method of calculation.

Tkt

Method of calculation for ticketing agent commissions. This calculation method is applied to the amount in the Amount field immediately to the right of this field. For available calculation methods, see the Bk field description.

Amount (for the Tkt field)

Amount used by the method of calculation specified in the Tkt field. This is a percentage amount for base fare and commission methods of calculation, or a monetary amount for the fixed amount method of calculation.

Sell

Method of calculation for selling agent commissions. This calculation method is applied to the amount in the Amount field immediately to the right of this field. For available calculation methods, see the Bk field description.

Amount (for the Sell field)

Amount used by the method of calculation specified in the Sell field. This is a percentage amount for base fare and commission methods of calculation, or a monetary amount for the fixed amount method of calculation.

The following table describes the buttons on the Agent Commission Setup screen.

Button	Description
EDIT	Opens the edit area on the Edit Agent Commission File screen. Use this area to modify the agent commission setup selected in the Defined Travel Types grid. For more information, see Editing Agent Commission Setups.
ADD	Opens the edit area on the Edit Agent Commission File screen. Use this area to add agents and set up their commissions. For more information, see Adding Agent Commission Setups.
CLONE	Opens the Clone Agent dialog box. Use this dialog box to duplicate the commission setup of the agent selected in the Agent box to a new agent. For more information, see Cloning Agent Commission Setups.
