Air Pricing with Plating Carriers

All providers have logic to determine the plate, or ticket stock, on which an air ticket should be issued. Air Pricing transactions can be modified to specify a plating carrier in the request that overrides the provider's default.

The response includes plating carrier information only when it is supplied by the provider. Galileo and Apollo do not provide this information when the modifier is used. Worldspan always provide the plating carrier.

How to

  1. Include the required information for AirPriceReq.

  2. Use AirPriceReq/AirPricingModifiers @PlatingCarrier to specify a plating (ticketing) carrier in the request. This modifier applies to the entire journey, not individual flight segments in the request.

Depending on provisioning, @PlatingCarrier may be ignored in requests to Worldspan , and a warning may be returned:

Provider does not support the requested plating carrier modifier

Please contact your Travelport Support representative for more information.

  3. A standard Air Pricing response is returned. The plating carrier is indicated in AirPriceRsp/AirPriceResult/AirPricingSolution/AirPricingInfo @PlatingCarrier.

Exceptions
