Itinerary profiles

If you have customers that travel a set itinerary regularly, such as flights, car rentals, or hotel rooms, the agency may opt to create itinerary files. The builder of the itinerary profile enters the information by using a long sell format, with dots substituted for the date in the format.

These files can be at the business level or personal level and attached to specific business files. The name given to these files is the city pair that they apply in. Since the Itinerary/Auxiliary Service files probably will have few lines, the quick build format is practical. The addition of the letter I, separated by slashes, immediately after the quick build format, distinguishes the profile as an itinerary file.

This type of profile can be used for paid and due lines and allows an easy addition of a TUR retention segment.

The profile lines require a specific qualifier:

  • C – Car segments

  • D – Departing air segment

  • I – Associated remarks or paid/due lines

  • H – Hotel segment

  • R – Return air segment

  • T – Tour segment

Create retention segment

Since itinerary PNRs do not purge at midnight, an agency may use a retention segment to avoid the purge.

  1. Create (build) the itinerary profile.

  2. Add a profile line using the qualifier T.

Example: 1YT/0TURZZBK1ATL.....-**THANK YOU FOR YOUR BUSINESS**

  3. Make sure there are 5 dots for a date.

  4. Complete the build.

To use it in a PNR/booking file, display the profile and then enter CMB/+DDMMM (DDMMM is the date until which you want to hold the PNR/booking file.)

Example: TUR ZZ BK1  ATL 22FEB-**THANK YOU FOR YOUR BUSINESS**

The ability to build profiles of any kind is a permission associated with your sign on. Search MyTravelport for further information about itinerary profiles.
