Displaying Air Availability

Air Availability results are returned when a Air Availability search request is made using either a manual entry or the Air Booking Tool, the Air Availability screen is displayed.
Default Availability Results
The following examples shows a response for a round-trip itinerary from Paris (CDG airport code) to New York (JFK airport code). No airline, passenger, booking code (class of service) are included in the request.
For round-trip flights, outbound flights are displayed in the upper partition and return flights in the lower partition. Scroll down in each partition to see all availability.
By default, Smartpoint displays:
- If present, Sponsored Flights are returned first, followed by Neutral Display flights. Typically, participating airlines use Travelport Sponsored Flights to promote a new service, display promotional fares, or highlight flights that you may not otherwise notice.
More Information about Sponsored FlightsSponsored Flights are returned:
- Only for PCCs (Pseudo City Codes) that are currently enabled for Sponsored Flights.
- For one-way, round-trip, and open jaw itineraries. Sponsored Flights are not returned for other types of itineraries such as circle itineraries.
- For Network (GDS) carriers and Direct Payment Carriers in Availability responses.

- Nonstop flights first, followed by direct and connecting flights (based on the shortest time it takes to get from origin to destination).
More Information about Connecting Flights and StopsA number at the end of the display before the E-ticket symbol indicates that the number of times that the flight stops en route. In this example the flight touches down in Chicago between Kansas City and Minneapolis.

- Flights with a preferred departure of midnight for all possible travel options from 0001 through 1159.
- Applicable flights of all participating airlines.

The following table shows the description of an Air Availability line.
Important! Some response items in the following list may not present in a given response, depending on the source and details of the Pricing Option.
The following table lists the components of the availability display and the components of line 1 of the display.

Make the desired changes and then click OK. Click the Up arrow to close the Modify display.

If present, indicates the on-time performance for this flight. More Information
Flights are considered on time if they if they depart from the gate or arrive at the gate less than 15 minutes after their scheduled departure or arrival times. The presence of the on-time performance indicators varies by flight. The US Department of Transportation (DOT) requires that on-time performance data be provided for domestic flights that are operated by large US carriers, and depart or arrive at specified US airports. However, these carriers may also provide voluntary information for other airports. The following codes may be returned:

Click to view the seat map for the flight. Availability of the seat map varies depending on the carrier and flight. For Network Carriers, seat maps may be view-only maps until the air segment is booked. If the seat map is unavailable, the seat icon is shaded light gray . |
