Air Availability
Using Manual Entries
An availability display is accessed by typing a cryptic entry in the Entry Field in the Smart Screen. The response displays in the Smart Screen and the “Run Related Script” icon appears in the top right corner of the Smart Screen.
To change the date, either overtype the existing date, or use the left arrow to go one day earlier, the right arrow to go one day later.
The time, departure city and arrival city can be changed by typing over the existing details. To send the new availability entry to the host, click OK.
The Number of passengers defaults to 1 seat. To change the number, simply overtype the 1, or use the drop-down menu to select a number, up to a maximum of nine. Changing the number of customers does not require you to click on OK.
The availability response includes interactive links.

Selling from Air Availability
To book a segment, simply click on the booking class to sell. Cryptic formats may be used to book flights. Enter 01Y1 to sell a single Y class seat from line 1 of availability. The sold segment is updated automatically in the PNR Viewer window.
Classes of service are color coded for easy identification:
- Booking classes in Green indicates class is available
- Booking classes in Orange indicates class is on waitlist
- Booking classes in Grey indicates class is not available. The symbol is a dot (.) which is static and cannot be selected.
- In some of the booking class tooltips, information may be displayed advising the class of service e.g. First Class, Business Class.
- For API Connect Carriers the availability displays with the booking code in orange and the number of seats as a dash.
Note: A ZK passive segment status code cannot be manually entered. If direct selling an API connected airline, an NN status code should be used which will convert to the ZK passive status
Outbound/Return Availability
Smartpoint enables a search for the outbound and return flights in a single transaction with the responses shown in different Res Windows.
Outbound/Return Availability is displayed by linking the entries with a double end item ‘##’ symbol (hash or pound sign).
Example entries:
A19MARMIAGIG##A24MARGIGMIA
A23JANHKGLAX##A/R8FEB
A10JULCDGATH##A/R10D
A25AUGATLSLC-DL##A/R5D-DL
Points to note:
- Both windows show the recap of the availability at the top with the editable boxes for departure date, departure time and city pairs
- In the example above the split screen was used to display the availability. The entry will work in the single screen view, with the outbound availability displayed in the current Res Window, and the inbound availability in the next Res Window. Click on the Res Window number to display the required availability display.
Additional Availability
The manual entry AD (availability down) may be used to display more availability.
Alternatively, the AD entry may be added to the initial availability entry which results in a scrollable availability.
To request additional availability use the tilde (~) key, or for non-US keyboards use Shift plus ¬ (the key to the left of the number 1) followed by the required number of availability down.
Example entry for availability requesting 2 Availability Down:
- A20SEPATLDEN~2
- A20SEPATLDEN¬2
The response is a scrollable availability display
Partial screen response
Note: When selling from an Additional Availability display the point and click method must be used. The manual sell entry will result in an Error Response.
Combining Outbound/Return Availability and Additional Availability
The Outbound/Return Availability and Additional Availability may be combined in a single entry with the response as scrollable displays for both the outbound and inbound availability:
Example Entry
A12APRLHRHKG~2##A/R14D~2 or A12APRLHRHKG¬2##A/R14D¬2
You may also combine an availability entry with a request for a fares display:
- A19MARJFKLAX~3##4FJFKLAX/L19MAR
- A19MARJFKLAX¬3##4FJFKLAX/L19MAR
