Fare Display/Tariff Display

Equivalent Terminal Formats

Travelport+ (1G): FD (Fare Display)

Apollo (1V): $D (Tariff Display or Air Tariff)

Note: Fare Display/Tariff Display is available only through terminal formats in Smartpoint.

A Fare Display entry returns all published fares between two cities regardless of availability.

There are two main types of Fare Display:

  • Basic (Unvalidated) Fare Display
Returns all published fares between two cities without validating the travel dates. Basic tariff displays are useful for customers with flexible travel plans.

  • Validated Fare Display
Include travel dates in the request to return a validated fare display. The fares returned are validated for seasons, blackouts, day/time, advance reservations, minimum and maximum stay, travel restrictions, and sales restrictions.

Request

You can request a Fare Display either directly or as a follow-on entry from an Air Availability.

Note: Fare Display/Tariff Display is available only through terminal formats in Smartpoint.

Requesting a Fare Display

To request a Fare Display:
  1. Enter the Travelport+ (1G) or Apollo (1V) format for Fare Display/Tariff Display in the Terminal Window.

For the basic Fare/Tariff Display, the format is followed by the city pair/airport code. For a validated Fare/Tariff Display, the date of travel is also included in any order before or after the city pair.

    • The Travelport+ (1G) Fare Display format is FD

      Basic Fare Display: FDLONNYC

Validated Fare Display: FD10SEPLONNYC or FDLONNYC10SEP

    • The Apollo (1V) Tariff Display format is $D

      Basic Fare Display: $DLONNYC

Validated Fare Display: $D10SEPLONNYC or $DLONNYC10SEP

  2. In the fare response, if additional flight options are available for the selected fare, you can click More Flights. If no additional fares are available, the Fare Display displays the text END.

Requesting a Fare Display from an Air Availability

You can request a Fare Display from your most recent Air Availability display.

To request a follow-on Fare Display from Air Availability, enter:

  • Travelport+ (1G): FDA
  • Apollo (1V): $DL*, where * is the number of the line to display.

This follow-on Fare Display is the same as a stand-alone Fare Display. However, any Air Availability modifiers that are also supported by Fare Display will not be ignored.

Response

For validated Fare Displays, there are two types responses:

  • North American Tariff Display (NAFD) for fares within the USA, Canada, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.

  • International Tariff Display (IFD) for fares throughout the rest of the world.

Both displays have the following neutrality features in common:

  • Fares are displayed in strictly low-to-high order with round trips assessed at their half-value.

  • If one carrier's fare is identical to another carrier's fare, the display is randomized on subsequent entries.

This example shows an International Tariff Display (IFD) on Travelport+ (1G).

Tip! By default, 64 results are returned in the Fare Display response. However, you can use the Search Settings to change the number of results returned in the display.
Tip! Branded fares information is returned for Travelport+ (1G) only if Smartpoint is toggled to native mode. Branded fares information is not available for Apollo (1V).

For some Fare Display requests, the response screen is interactive. In the response, you can:

  • Request availability for a listed fare.

  • Request fare rules for a listed fare.

  • Click the currency code to change the currency for the Fare Display results.

  • Hover over or click any blue or green text to see more information for that item.

Note: If made the Fare Display request in native mode, the response display is not interactive.
