EMDs

Managing EMDs with Terminal Formats

 

If an EMD cannot be issued using the EMD Manager for EMD-S and EMD-A, these topics in the Travelport Knowledge Base, provide information for issuing and managing EMDs using terminal formats. Additionally, some EMD tasks can be performed only using terminal commands.

EMD-A

  • Issue an EMD-A to fulfill additional services

  • Issue EMD-A for multi-passenger specific services

  • Book and fulfill multiple ancillary services

  • Book and fulfill service, print EMD receipt after issue

EMD-S

  • Issue an EMD-S to fulfill airline service fee

  • Issue EMD-S for multi-passenger and issue receipt

Voiding and Refunding

You can void or refund EMD-A or EMD-S, if these functions are supported by the airline. EMDs for canceled segments or itineraries can also be voided or refunded, if supported by the airline.

  • Void an EMD issued with an error

  • Refund an issued EMD

Exchanging

You can exchange EMD-A or EMD-S for ancillary services, if supported by the airline.

Exchange an issued EMD for a new EMD

  • BSP agencies on Travelport+ (1G) can apply an EMD-S voucher for airfare to exchange for a new ticket, if supported by the airline.

  • Apply EMD-S toward purchase of airline ticket (even exchange)

  • Apply EMD-S toward purchase of airline ticket (add collect)

  • Apply EMD-S toward purchase of airline ticket (forfeit residual value)
