Exchanging E-Tickets with EMD-S Vouchers
Even Exchanges
As of 12 December 2020, this functionality is available in the Travelport+ (1G) system. EMD-S vouchers are currently available only through Travelport+ formats, but will be added to the EMD Manager in a future release.
If a traveler cancels an itinerary, funds in an EMD-S voucher issued by the airline can be applied to an exchange for a new e-ticket.
Exchanges with EMD-S vouchers are available for:
-
Travelport+ (1G) only. This functionality is not available on Apollo (1V).
-
BSP participants only. This functionality is not available through ARC.
-
Participating carriers.
The initial participating carriers are British Airways (BA), Air France (AF), and KLM (KL), with additional carriers being added. See EMD information for all carriers participating in Travelport+ (1G) , Apollo and Worldspan in the Travelport Knowledge Base for a list of current participants.

Uneven Exchanges
This functionality is available in Travelport+ (1G) as of January 18, 2022 and Travelport Apollo (1V) as of February 16, 2022.
Agents can exchange an existing EMD for a new EMD if there is a price difference between the original and the new service. Such exchanges will be treated as even exchanges and any price difference will be ignored.
This exchange functionality meets policy requirements for EarlyBird Check-InĀ® ancillaries on Southwest Airlines (WN), but can also be implemented for any applicable itinerary.
