Meals and traveler assistance

Important:

  • Meals and traveler assistance can be added before (NDC only) or after booking but must be added before ticketing.

  • When selecting meals or traveler assistance before booking (NDC only), passenger information for each passenger must be included on the host booking file before searching for flights. Add passenger names (N.), phone (P.), and email (MT. or MF.). Secure flight information is also required for Book and Ticket.

  • Singapore Airlines (SQ) does not support adding, deleting, or modifying SSRs.

  • Subject to carrier support.

(Subject to carrier support.) After selecting a flight and choosing hold, you can request special meals and traveler assistance.

Add SSRs

Important note: The process to select meals or traveler assistance before or after booking is similar. When selecting meals or traveler assistance before booking (NDC only), passenger information for each passenger must be included on the host booking file before searching for flights. Add passenger names (N.), phone (P.), and email (MT. or MF.). Secure flight information is also required for Book and Ticket.

You can select meals or traveler assistance after Hold and before ticketing by selecting the View Booking File button or by displaying the booking in the graphical view.

Special meal requests can be added per passenger and per segment before or after booking. At this time, Special Service Requests (SSRs) cannot be modified or canceled.

  1. When selecting before booking, these options are located in the Review and Confirm panel under the Fare Details section in the middle panel (or left panel if the search panel is collapsed). Passenger information must be included in the Booking File in order to select prior to booking.

When selecting after booking, in the booking review panel, expand the Reservations section and select the reservations summary to open the flight details in the right panel; scroll down to the Special Service Requests section.

  2. Select + Add requests for this flight.

If selecting prior to booking and if traveler information is missing from the booking file, a warning displays.

  3. Select the + icon to expand the list of options for the special meal or traveler assistance.

  4. Select an option.

    • Meals can be added per passenger and per segment.

    • Traveler Assistance SSRs do not need to be added per segment. Any selection for a passenger applies to all segments in the NDC booking for that passenger. Multiple Special Assistance SSRs can be added and saved in a single request.

  5. Once selected, the status displays as Unconfirmed.

To copy a meal to all segments for a passenger, click the copy () icon next to the status.

  6. Select the Save button.

Status of the requested SSR is updated by the carrier— agents will see this upon subsequent retrieval of the Booking File. Status starts with Unconfirmed, meaning the carrier has not yet responded to the request. This status might be changed at any point by the carrier. Depending on the carrier response, the status will show as either Confirmed (green), or Rejected (red). If the SSR is rejected, the request may not be supported by the carrier or the carrier has rejected it and deleted it from the Booking File. If further assistance is needed with rejected SSRs, please contact the carrier directly.
