IE Mode in Microsoft Edge

Manually Configuring IE Mode

On June 15, 2022, Microsoft ended support for the Internet Explorer (IE) 11 browser for certain operating systems. However, agents can continue to use Smartpoint Worldspan with an IE Mode in the Microsoft Edge browser.

Because Travelport will no longer support Smartpoint on Internet Explorer after it is retired by Microsoft, agents using Smartpoint Worldspan are required to move to the IE Mode in Microsoft Edge.

An automated tool is available to automatically configure IE Mode for Smartpoint web sites. However, these manual configuration instructions can be used duplicate the same process, if necessary.

Please Note:

If possible, it is recommended for technical personnel to manually install IE Mode. If applicable, agents should contact their agency's Smartpoint Administrator or technical support before setting up IE mode in Microsoft Edge.

Exceptions:

Do NOT use these configuration instructions if you:

  • Have already configured IE Mode on Chrome.
You can modify your existing IE Mode site list to add Smartpoint’s URLs. See Updating the Site List for instructions.
