IE Mode in Microsoft Edge

Using the Automated Configuration Tool

Travelport no longer supports Internet Explorer (IE) after it was retired by Microsoft on June 15, 2022.

However, agents can continue to use for Travelport Smartpoint for Worldspan in an IE Mode in the Microsoft Edge browser. These instructions provide steps to install IE Mode using an automated tool.

Accessing the Automated Tool

An automated tool is available to automatically configure IE Mode on Microsoft Edge for Smartpoint web sites. This tool is available to all users on Travelport Marketplace at:

https://www.travelportmarketplace.com/Product/Worldspan-Installer-for-IE-Mode-in-Microsoft-Edge

A MyTravelport username and password are required to access Travelport Marketplace.

Note:

The Worldspan Installer for IE Mode was previously made available in the Self Serve pages for Smartpoint. This installer is the same software and version, but is now also delivered from Travelport Marketplace.

  • You do not need to reinstall from Travelport Marketplace, both the Self Serve and Marketplace versions are the same.

  • The Self Serve page for the installer requires Internet Explorer 11. The IE Mode installer cannot be downloaded from the Self Serve page using Microsoft Edge or Chrome. If you do not currently have Internet Explorer 11 installed on your computer, download from Travelport Marketplace.

Exceptions

Do NOT use this installer if you have already configured IE Mode on Edge. This installer will overwrite your current URLs (web sites) that are set to IE Mode. However, you can modify your IE Mode settings to add the Smartpoint URLs to the existing web sites on the Enterprise Mode Site List for Edge. See Updating the Site List in the Smartpoint Help for instructions.

Instructions for manually installing IE Mode are also available in Manually Configuring IE Mode. Please note that the manual instructions require administrator access to Windows.
