Hotel Index

HELP HOI

Hotel Index returns a comprehensive list of properties, regardless of availability. For example, Hotel Index can be used if a traveler wants to stay at a specific property.

You can add modifiers to include the:

  • Airport and surrounding area.
  • City and surrounding suburbs.
  • Surrounding area of a reference point.

You can also:

  • Request a hotel index with or without air segments.
  • Add search qualifiers to view properties that meet specific needs.

Note: Hotel Index is not currently supported for Hotel Retail. If Hotel Retail is enabled, the Hotel Index response continues to be displayed in a main Travelport Smartpoint window.

Requesting a Hotel Index

Note: Hotel Index is available only as a terminal format.

To request a Hotel Index:
  1. Enter HOI, followed by the city name/code, airport name/code, or reference point name. Additional modifiers can also be added.

Note: You can also include additional availability search qualifiers, such as the number of children, ages of children, and extra bedding. These qualifiers can be entered as dormant input data to be carried on to follow-up entries.

  • US is the two-character country code.

  1. If there is more than one occurrence of a city or reference point, select the desired location from the list of similar names. For example, if Springfield is requested a similar names list is displayed.

In the following example, a hotel index is displayed for properties near Hartsfield Jackson International Airport in Atlanta for August 18: HOI18AUGATL.

Unit of measurement for the distance of the hotel from the search location.

MI = Miles

KM = Kilometers

DIR

The column header for distance and direction of the hotel property from the search location.

Line

The line number.
#

The rate program for the hotel.

  • # = a Lowest Public Rate program participant.
  • ! = a Best Available Rate Program participant.

WI

The vendor code for the hotel chain or property.

Hover over or click on the two-letter vendor code to decode the hotel vendor.

The name of the hotel property.

4736 BEST ROAD

The street address of the hotel property.

1 SW

The distance and direction of the property from the search location.

1 SW indicates that the property is 1 mile southwest of the requested search location. In this example, the search location is an airport. However, for a city search location, the property would be 1 mile southwest of the city center.

N = North

NE = Northeast

E = East

SE = Southeast

S = South

SW = Southwest

W = West

NW = Northwest
