Client IDs and SSL Thumbprints
Smartpoint uses an alphanumeric Client ID (Client Identifier or CID) to identify a workstation that accesses the Travelport+ (1G) or Apollo (1V) system.
Each Client ID:
-
Is unique to a workstation, and a separate Client ID is required for workstations that access both Travelport+ (1G) and Apollo (1V).
-
Is associated to a unique GTID or Terminal Identifier. When the Client ID is changed, the GTID is also updated.
-
May have a Static IP Address or Dynamic IP Address, depending on the platform configuration.
During the first Smartpoint connection, Travelport maps an Galileo SSL thumbprint to the Client ID as part of the secure authentication to Travelport. When the SSL connection to Travelport+ or Apollo breaks, this thumbprint can be used to reset the Client ID. As a result, this process is sometimes referred to as both resetting the Client ID and resetting the SSL thumbprint.
