Exporting Galileo Print Manager.net Host and Driver Configuration Files
You can use the GPM.NET Configuration window to export the following Galileo Print Manager.net configuration files to a location on your computer:
- Host.config — Contains the host connection configurations for Galileo Print Manager.net. The GPM.NET Configuration window's Host Configurations tab displays these configurations.
- Driver.config — Contains the device driver configurations for Galileo Print Manager.net. The GPM.NET Configuration window's Device Drivers tab displays these configurations.
To preserve your configurations, export these files before uninstalling Galileo Print Manager.net for any reason. Also, you can export these files so that the configurations can be used on multiple machines.
Note: If you export the configuration files to save copies of the configurations or to modify settings, you can manually copy them back to the Galileo Print Manager.net application folder so that Galileo Print Manager.net uses their settings. For more information, see Copying Galileo Print Manager.net Host and Driver Configuration Files to the Galileo Print Manager.net Application Folder.
To export these configuration files from the Galileo Print Manager.net application folder:
-
In the GPM.NET Configuration window, click File, and then click Export Configurations.
The Browse For Folder dialog box appears:
-
Select the folder in which to save the Galileo Print Manager.net configuration files, and then click OK to export.
Note: You also can create a new folder for this purpose. In the Browse For Folder dialog box:
- Select the drive or folder under which to create the new folder.
- Click Make New Folder.
- Type a name for the new folder.
- Click OK to export.
Galileo Print Manager.net exports the Host.config and Driver.config files if the configuration files do not already exist in the specified folder. If these files already exist, the following message appears:
-
If the message above appears:
- Click Yes to overwrite the configuration files.
- Click No to cancel the export process.
Copying Galileo Print Manager.net Host and Driver Configuration Files to the Galileo Print Manager.net Application Folder
The Galileo Print Manager.net installation process automatically places the Host.config and Driver.config files in the Galileo Print Manager.net application folder (typically, C:\Program Files (x86)\Galileo Print Manager .NET). Galileo Print Manager.net automatically reads these files when you start the application and displays the configurations when you open the GPM.NET Configuration window. If you export the configuration files to save copies of the configurations or to modify settings (see Exporting Galileo Print Manager.net Host and Driver Configuration Files), you can manually copy them back to the Galileo Print Manager.net application folder so that Galileo Print Manager.net uses their settings.
IMPORTANT! Because Galileo Print Manager.net runs as a Windows service, any changes to configurations do not take effect until the GPM.NET service is stopped and restarted (enabling it to load the new configurations).
To copy either or both of these configuration files to the Galileo Print Manager.net application folder:
- Stop Galileo Print Manager.net.
Right-click the GPM.NET Service Monitor icon () in the Windows notification area (located on the right side of the Windows taskbar).
The following menu appears:
- Click Stop.
- Using Windows Explorer, open the Galileo Print Manager.net application folder (typically, C:\Program Files (x86)\Galileo Print Manager .NET).
- Copy the configuration files that you want Galileo Print Manager.net to use to the Galileo Print Manager.net application folder.
- Restart Galileo Print Manager.net.
Right-click the GPM.NET Service Monitor icon in the Windows notification area.
The following menu appears:
- Click Restart.
