Amtrak Certification Supplier Requirements
Amtrak (2V) requires certification and approval before granting both pre-production and production credentials to begin coding.
-
Contact your Account Manager, who will create an internal request to begin the provisioning process.
-
Account Manager will help you complete the required API form.
-
Once the application is approved and pre-production credentials are issued, Travelport will add the credentials to your subscriber agreement and profile so that you can begin coding in the pre-production environment.
From the perspective of Amtrak, if Travelport views the prospect partner as viable, and the partner agrees to support the development to the level that it can pass the Travelport accreditation of Amtrak, Amtrak encourages Travelport to engage and activate the new partner.
Description of the access provided: Corporate Booking Tool, Online Travel Agency*, Travel Agent Desktop Solution, Travel App (Booking), Travel App (Information only i.e. Flight Aware, RouteHappy, LoungeBuddy)
*Online Travel Agencies – Amtrak would like to specifically review information related to any engagement with companies building out Online Travel Agency Solutions.
Accreditation
Amtrak has certain minimum accreditation standards. Amtrak/Travelport will provide an accreditation document and test cases worksheet separately which includes required elements for Look / Book / Pay / eTicket development and, test script for integration. Both documents must be separately requested.
You should be able to support:
-
Shopping / Booking / Payment / Travel Document Delivery
-
Cancel / Refund / Travel Document Delivery
-
Partners must be able to support the refund fees and eVoucher issuance that is part of our cancellation process.
-
Please see the current limitations before proceeding with testing as some of the test cases are affected/blocked by the limitations.
Accreditation criteria and use cases will need to be documented on an Excel worksheet and will be shared with Amtrak.
Accreditation Workflow
-
Complete scenarios/use cases required and document results in Excel worksheet.
-
Share results with Travelport and Amtrak.
-
Work through UAT (3 weeks).
Note: The standard Universal API support certification process still applies, in addition to the required Amtrak certification.
Current Limitations
-
Cross border journeys not currently supported
-
eVouchers as payment not currently supported, redeemed only via Amtrak
-
Only two types of fares available (current API from Amtrak):
-
Economy
-
Business
-
-
Ancillaries (optional add-ons)
-
Bicycle/Golf clubs/Pets
-
Production
Once you’ve passed your use cases and nothing is exposed in UAT, Travelport will then provision you access to the production environment with production credentials along with a certification letter. This process usually takes 7-10 working days.
Contracting
Travelport must determine the access that the company is providing to Amtrak content be it Managed (TRAVELPORTCORP) or Unmanaged (TRAVELPORT) for payment processing for these partners.
Managed
- Covers B2B/Corporate accounts using the Amtrak app in which CVC/postal code verification is not required
Unmanaged
- Refers to Universal API connections which need to be reviewed and agreed with Amtrak
- Amtrak see value is in B2B / Corporate account connections through CBTs
