Installing Travelport Booking Feed
To check to see what version of the adapter is currently installed:
- Current (up to date) Travelport Booking Feed customers should see Travelport Booking Feed (TBF) icons on their desktop and TBF version v9.5 (Version 9.5 would be the latest version, prior to this enhancement) in the Control Panel \ add-remove programs.
- If a Travelport Booking Feed customer has installed the adapter as a Windows application a ‘Travelport Booking Feed’ icon appears on your desktop for the current version (as illustrated below).
The following instructions detail how to install:
- The Travelport Booking Feed Adapter, which includes Java version 1.7.0_21 (32-bit).
- Setup scripts for the client database for both Sybase® Adaptive Server® and Microsoft® SQL Server®.
Important! If customers do not upgrade to the latest adapter and database/XML schema, the following warning is returned:
WARNING: Database not up-to-date for this version of TBF Adapter. Please upgrade the database using latest scripts. The adapter will be shut down.
- The installation also includes scripts to “Select All” and “Purge Data” from the client database. By default, the SelectAll.sql and PurgeData.sql Microsoft SQL Server scripts are located in:
C:\Program File\Travelport\TBF\sql_scripts\SQL Server. - By default, the SybaseSelectAll.sql and SybasePurgeData.sql Sybase Adaptive Server scripts are located in:
C:\Program File\Travelport\TBF\sql_scripts\Sybase.
To install Travelport Booking Feed:

From a Web browser, go to the Travelport Booking Feed installation site. The URL for this site and initial installation instructions are provided by your Travelport representative.

Click Next to display the Customer Information dialog box.

Enter your User Name and Company Name for the Travelport Booking Feed registration.

Click Next to display the Choose Destination Location dialog box.

Select an installation location for the Travelport Booking Feed application:

Click Next to install Travelport Booking Feed in the default location. By default, Travelport Booking Feed is installed in C:\Program Files\Travelport\TBF\, where C is the machine’s hard drive.

Note: To maintain backwards compatibility, Travelport Booking Feed is retaining the same installation path that was used for previous versions of this product. As a result, existing TBF/ Travelport Booking Feed customers will not need to modify scripts or other references for third‐party applications that access Travelport Booking Feed components.

Click Browse to select another hard drive or server location for the installation.

After you choose the destination location, click Next to display the Start Copying Files window.

Click Next to start copying files. This process may take a few moments. After the Travelport Booking Feed application files are installed, the Application Shortcuts message is displayed.

Select your Application Shortcuts preference.

Click Yes to install a shortcut to the Travelport Booking Feed Adapter on your desktop.
Shortcuts
After installation, the following shortcuts are installed, if the shortcuts option was selected. By default, these shortcuts are installed on the Windows Desktop:
- The Travelport Booking Feed 10.1 Adapter shortcut opens the Travelport Booking Feed Adapter Console, which provides a command line view of transaction data.
Note: This Adapter Console is not available if Travelport Booking Feed is installed as a service. However, the console data is available through the wrapper.log files. See “Logging” in the Travelport Booking Feed Product Overview for details.
- The Travelport Booking Feed 10.1 Configuration shortcut opens the Travelport Booking Feed Application Properties dialog box, which can be used to configure Travelport Booking Feed functionality such as queues, database connections, and logging.
- The Travelport Booking Feed 10.1 Error Utility shortcut opens the error utility. See “Error Logging” in the Travelport Booking Feed Product Overview for details.

Click No to not install a shortcut on your desktop. A shortcut is always available from the Windows Start menu in All Programs > Travelport > Travelport Booking Feed 10.1.
After you select an Application Shortcuts option, the SQL Database Setup dialog box is displayed. You need to select your previous installation so the setup can create or update the Travelport Booking Feed SQL database.

The SQL Database Setup programmatically builds or updates the Travelport Booking Feed database for any locally installed version of Microsoft® SQL Server®. Select one of the following options depending on your installation status and intended database management:

If you are updating a previous Travelport Booking Feed installation, select your current version of Travelport Booking Feed and click OK.
Please note that GIDS/TBF versions earlier than 2.08.02 have been retired; however, they are included in the installation for upgrade.

If Travelport Booking Feed was not previously installed on this system, select New Installation and click OK.

If you intend to manually build or update the database after installation, click Skip. This option should be used if:
- Microsoft SQL Server has not been installed yet.
- You are using a non-local (remote) SQL server.
- You are using a PC that has multiple SQL server connections.
- You are using a SQL server that prompts for a logon.
- You are using a Sybase database.
- You want to manually create the database.

The InstallShield Wizard Complete window is displayed.

Click Finish to complete the installation and display the Travelport Booking Feed Adapter service message.
After the installation is complete, the service message is displayed.
Customers have the option to run the Travelport Booking Feed Adapter as a service:

Click No to not install the Travelport Booking Feed Adapter as a service.
OR

Click Yes to install the Travelport Booking Feed Adapter as a service into the Windows service panel. The service automatically starts the next time the machine is rebooted.
Note: When the Client Adapter runs as a service, the Adapter Console is not available. However, the output data is available as a log.
When run as a service, the Services list displays Travelport Booking Feed Adapter.
If you selected Yes,a message is displayed to inform you that the service will be automatically started the next time your workstation is rebooted.
Click OK to confirm the installation of the Travelport Booking Feed adapter as a service.

The Travelport Booking Feed Application Properties dialog box automatically displays after installation. The Queue Name is required; all other modifications to the default settings are optional.

Click Apply on the Travelport Booking Feed Application Properties dialog box to display the Release Notes message, giving you the option of viewing the release notes.

It is recommended to click Yes to view the release notes.

If you chose to Skip the automatic database installation/update in Step 9, you must manually install or update the database schema.

For new installations, the ODBC connection must be set up after the Travelport Booking Feed installation. This connection allows the client database to communicate with the Galileo or Apollo data source.
After the application downloads, the Welcome window of the InstallShield Wizard is displayed.
For updates of existing installations, confirm that the ODBC connection is working properly.
