Description
Situations exist where a traveler can find and use a published fare from their origin point to a destination other than the traveler’s true destination. These fares are normally used because they are significantly less than the fare to the traveler’s actual destination. The destination used to obtain the fare is normally an intermediate point that is close to the traveler’s true destination. To protect the air vendors from this loss of revenue, an amount called the “plus up” amount is used to reflect the “higher” fare.
