PTC (Passenger Type Code)
Passenger Type Codes (PTC) are industry-standard codes that indicate passenger types for fares, such as Adult (ADT), Child (Cnn), or Government Travel (GVT). Typically, PTCs are three-character codes, but some Low Cost Carriers may use five-character codes.
You can add a PTC to a passenger Name field in the Name Remarks. When the PTC is present in the Name field remarks, it is not necessary to repeat the PTC in the price/fare quote request. However, if both the Name field and price/fare quote request contain a PTC, the PTC in the price/fare quote overrides the PTC in the Name field.
In Travelport+ (1G) and Apollo (1V), enter:
- PTC to see a list PTCs and descriptions.
- PTC/E to see a list PTCs beginning with the specified letter. For example, PTCs that begin with the letter E.
