All Book and Ticketing Workflows

The following diagrams outline all supported book and ticketing workflows. Optional steps such as adding seats and ancillaries are not shown below.

The NDC Instant Pay workflow (book and issue ticket in the same session) does not support bookingClosed A confirmed reservation with the carrier. A held booking is a reservation that has not yet been ticketed. The terms booking and reservation are interchangeable. ancillaries, and the Add Product workflow does not support booking ancillaries or seats. These can be added after the reservation is created.

Each box in the diagram represents one API call in the workflow.

The Add Product workflow below allows you to start with booking and skip the Search and AirPrice steps. Although not shown below, the optional Fare Display request can be sent in this flow to retrieve fare ruleClosed Conditions and restrictions that apply to any booking based on its fare type. These determine the price of the fare. Can include blackout dates, advanced reservation requirements, minimum and maximum stay requirements, and cancellation and change penalties. GDSClosed Global Distribution System. A GDS aggregates and distributes air, hotel, and car rental content such as schedules, fares, and upsells. In the JSON APIs, GDS content is distributed from Travelport. only; not supported for NDCClosed New Distribution Capability, an XML standard for exchanging data that supports airlines in distributing their content directly to online travel agencies.
