Add Policy Groups
To add a policy group, on the Policy Groups screen, select an account if you haven't already done so, and click the add policy group link at the upper right of the Policy Groups List. The Add Policy Group screen appears.
You can edit some of these details later for existing policies on the Edit Policy Group page.
The following table lists guidelines for completing the Add Policy Group screen.

Policy Group name |
Enter a name for the new policy group. Note: Field accepts only letters and numbers, no special characters, no spaces. |
Policy Reference |
This field is not open for entry; instead, a policy reference is assigned to the policy group after it is saved. This policy reference is used by Universal Policy Web Services and Universal API to identify the policy group. |
Policy Group summary |
Enter detailed policy group description. |
Assign To Account or Traveler Group |
Not open for entry; displays the account currently selected by the admin. |
Mark as default policy group for account |
Select checkbox to mark as default policy group for account. |
Start Date End Date Open Ended |
Enter start and end date to activate the policy group in Universal Policy. For example, the start date can be set to control a go-live date or keep the group inactive until configuration is complete. If you do not want to set an end date, leave Open Ended checkbox selected. To set an end date, deselect the Open Ended checkbox to enable date selection. The policy group becomes inactive after the end date. |
Air Policy |
Select an air policy for this policy group, if one applies. See Air Policies. |
Car Policy |
Select a car policy for this policy group, if one applies. See Car Policies. |
Hotel Policy |
Select a hotel policy for this policy group, if one applies. See Hotel Policies. |
Reason Code |
Select a reason code for this policy group, if one applies. If set on the Reason Codes screen, users are required to select a reason code before being allowed to book out-of-policy travel. |
Domestic/International assignments |
Optionally, designate one or more markets to be considered domestic for this policy group, so that rules apply to the correct country or region. Select a country or region (regions are marked with an asterisk) in the box on the right, then click the << button to move the selection to the left box to mark it as domestic for that policy group. If needed, use the >> button to move a selection back to the International box. You can select multiple countries and/or regions by holding down the Ctrl key and selecting options. Usually only one domestic country or region is selected. As needed, click select all and the appropriate button to clear any selections already made in the box. |
Save/Cancel |
Click Save to add these settings and save the new policy group. Click Cancel to discard changes. |
