Process Preferred Airline Lowest Fare Option
The following processing applies if this checkbox on the Policy Options and Exclusions screen is selected: Mark as in policy the lowest fare on a preferred airlines and all fares equal to or less than that fare. The processing uses the preferred segment rankings of the segments and the total price or approximate total price from the price points.
Universal Policy loops through the flight options / options for each price point. If all segments on a price point are preferred, Universal Policy flags the price point as preferred and keeps track of the lowest fare for a preferred price point. If any segment on a price point is not preferred the entire price point is flagged as non-preferred.
Universal Policy then loops through all the price points again to compare the fare amount to the lowest preferred fare amount found above. If any price point total exceeds the lowest preferred fare amount, it is marked as out-of-policy.
Universal Policy adds a message to the response with the lowest preferred fare amount found.
