HELP NAME or H/NAME

The booking file must contain the names of all passengers for whom you are making reservations. You must include infants, even though they do not occupy a seat. A maximum of 99 passenger names may be included in a booking file.

If you have more than nine passengers traveling together in a booking file, it is considered a group booking and space must be requested from the airline.

When making airline reservations or issuing tickets, the passenger name is added in a specific format: family name, first name, title.

Points to note:

Use recognized titles, such as Mr., Mrs., Ms., etc.
A title is not mandatory.
Do not use hyphens or spaces.
The passenger’s name you enter in the booking file must be the same as the name shown on the passenger’s photo documentation.

Name remarks

You may add name remarks to a passenger name. These are required for certain passenger types, such as the date of birth for senior citizen fares.

Children and infants

The IATA definition of a child is a person who has reached their 2nd birthday but not their 12th birthday. When a child’s name is added with a date of birth, the information is automatically added in a Special Service Request (SSR CHLD). Airlines will receive the child’s date of birth along with their age. For an infant without a seat, add the DOB in the Birth Date box in DDMMMYY format. For an infant with a seat, add the date of birth to the Name remarks section in DDMMMYY format.

The following are the formats to add name fields in the terminal window:

Lap Infants can now be associated with any Adult in the Booking File where as previously an Infant was associated to the first passenger. The following entries show how to associate infants with adults.

Add / edit name remarks in graphical view

Name Remarks can be added and edited directly within the graphical Travelers section by following these steps:

Select the Traveler section.
Click on the Edit travelers button.
Fill in the Name Remarks box of the corresponding passenger.
Click on Apply changes.

Delete names in graphical view

Select the Travelers section and press the Remove travelers button.
Select the name you need to delete, and press Remove.
A message appears confirming the deletion.

Points to note:

Names can only be deleted before the reservation is ended.
If there are infants present in the booking file, the associated adult cannot be removed without also removing the infant.
If the booking file contains an email address, you will be prompted with a warning message.

Passenger type codes

HELP PTC or H/PTC

You can add a Passenger Type Code (PTC) to a name field remarks. PTCs are used to facilitate pricing when discounted/special fares are applicable to certain passenger categories.

When a PTC is present in the name field remarks, it is not necessary to repeat the PTC in the pricing format. If both the name field and pricing format contain a PTC, the PTC in the pricing format overrides the PTC in the name field.

A list of PTCs can be accessed by typing PTC. The prefix for adding the PTC is P- followed by the code. For example, a four-year-old child would have the entry P-C04 in the name remarks.

Points to note:

A name remark may be added to any passenger name. Other examples could be the date of birth for a youth passenger, DOB12MAR20, or accounting details regarding a corporate account.
When an infant (without a seat) is added to a booking file, a servicing message is automatically sent to all airlines included in the itinerary. Select the Infant checkbox to have this properly recognized and fare quoted within the booking file.
An infant holding a seat is added as a PTC of INS. The DOB is needed. Although pricing as a child would apply, a message needs to be sent to the airline that the passenger is an infant. In some cases, the taxes might be different for an INS compared to a CHD.

Change/delete the name field

There are no restrictions to changing the names before end of transaction, when no locator exists.

However, each carrier has its own policies and procedures regarding name changes and most require approval or authorization to process a name change after the PNR has been ended. Knowledge Base Search: Name Change Actions.
