Some aggregators and suppliers require pre-payment, while others permit post-payment. Pre-pay and post-pay values are ignored for Galileo, Apollo, and Worldspan transactions.
- Pre-Pay
Requires payment at the time of booking for part or all of the hotel stay at the time of booking.
If the booking is canceled, the amount or availability of a refund varies according to the rules associated with the specified booking code (RatePlanType).
- Post-Pay
Allows the hotel to be paid at checkout. A credit card guarantee is required.
The Payment Type status for a given booking code is returned in HotelSearchResult/RateInfo.
