NDC segment status

By default, NDC bookings displayed in terminal have a status of ZK. As of July 31, 2025, agencies can contact their Travelport Account Manager and opt in to have NDC segments display with a status of HK.

If your agency does not opt in, NDC segments will continue to display a status of ZK.

Agencies who opt in for the NDC status of HK may need to update back office processes. The ZK to HK change will be important for future Order Change Notification features related to flight disruptions and other airline notifications.

In the terminal view, an N displays at the end of an NDC segment.

Considerations for opting in

  • Though the status will show HK, booking creation, modifications or cancellations must still be made via Travelport Smartpoint Cloud.

  • NDC bookings made prior to opting in will continue to display a status of ZK. Any change to the air segments will update the status to HK. In the Booking File History, all segment changes before your agency opted in will show ZK. All changes after your agency opted in will show HK.

  • Once an agency opts in, Trip Activity Alert will send the new ‘HK’ status in the Air Segments facet of the notification.

  • Once an agency opts in, the MIR will also display an NDC segment status of HK.

Booking file examples

Once an agency opts in, NDC segments display a status of HK and displays an N at the end of a terminal display for that segment.

The N indicator also displays at the end of booking file history.

MIR display

In the MIR, NDC segments are identified with the value NDC:Y. If an agency chooses to display NDC segments with a status of HK, the MIR will reflect this status. If an agency does not opt in, the MIR displays a status of ZK.
