Divide a booking
HELP DIVIDE or H/ DIVIDE
MyTravelport search: Divide a passenger from a booking file
Certain customers booked in the same booking file may need to change plans. You can divide passengers from a booking file to then modify or cancel their booking.
Note: The procedure shown here is for traditional GDS bookings. For help with dividing NDC bookings, please refer to the NDC information on MyTravelport.
To be divided, a booking must contain valid air segments. Existing car and hotel segments remain with the original booking. If you need to amend existing segments or add new car, hotel, or air segments for the new booking, add them after completing the divide procedure.
To divide a booking use the following steps:
-
Retrieve the booking file you want to divide:
-
Enter DP and the passenger number of the customer you are dividing out. Example: DP2
Travelport+ adjusts the number of seats and creates a booking for the customer you have divided out.
The header line displays a warning message that the booking file may not be modified. It must be filed, and the divide completed before any changes may be made.
-
Add a Received From field: R.PAX
-
Enter F to file the booking file.
Travelport+ will show the original booking file without the divided passenger’s name.
-
Add a Received From field again: R.PAX
-
Enter E or ER to end transaction.
A DIVIDED BOOKINGS field is created in both bookings. Enter or click *DV to view it.
The locator of the other booking file is shown as a link to retrieve the other booking.
A notepad item is also automatically created, advising the date and time of the divide action, and record locator of the original booking file.
