Car types

In availability, Smartpoint Cloud displays rental car types with four-letter codes to represent the features of the car. These are known as SIPP (Standard Interline Passenger Procedure) codes. The codes represent four car features:

  • Car size

  • Car category

  • Transmission/drive type

  • Fuel/air conditioning

The following table lists the car codes for each of the four features and their descriptions:

For example, an ECAR type is an economy, 2- or 4-door car with automatic transmission and air conditioning.

Note: When you display car availability, unique car type codes can appear in your response.

To make it easier to shop and compare similar vehicles for multiple vendors, you may see codes like JEAD (Elite Intermediate/Coupe/ Automatic/Diesel with Air Conditioning) and OJBR (Oversize/All Terrain/Automatic with 4-Wheel Drive/Air Conditioning).
