Installation Updates
Microsoft Windows Administrative rights are required for all Smartpoint installations. However, for the Smartpoint 11.0 Hotfix (v11.0.0.52) update from Smartpoint 11.0 (v.11.0.0.34), changes to Windows security also require you to manually run the Administrator mode before updating from either:
If you attempt to update Smartpoint without setting Administrator mode, a Download in progress screen is displayed after you click UPDATE. However, the screen closes within a few minutes without installing the update.
So before you click UPDATE, follow the instructions for setting Administrator mode and installing Smartpoint using Automatic Update Options.
Note: This error does not occur if you are updating from earlier versions of Smartpoint.
Feature and Functionality Updates
This hotfix release includes:
-
Clarification that Smart Buttons only apply to Travelport+ (1G). The Smart Buttons menu item is no longer displayed in Smartpoint Apollo (1V).
-
An updated browser window.
Because Microsoft no longer supports Internet Explorer, Chromium has replaced Internet Explorer as the in-app browser for Smartpoint to display links such as MyTravelport, Digital Media advertising, and support content from the Help menu.
-
A fix for the known issue regarding password length requirements.
The informational hover message on Change Password dialog box was updated to indicate that host passwords must contain 8 to 10 characters, instead of the previous 7-character requirement.
-
A fix for problems with issuing EMD-A using with the EMD Manager.
-
Fixes for a number of other reported issues.
