Exchanging Tickets
Even Exchanges
In Smartpoint 12.1, an even exchange modifier was added for Travelport+ (1G). The Even modifier calculates and process even exchanges for ticketing (TKP) and ticket modifier updates (TMU).
You may need to process an even exchange for:
-
A change for a ticket with a new fare that is the same value and no penalty.
-
An involuntary schedule change from the airline for a ticket where a penalty typically applies.
-
An exchange with a waiver code from the airline to issue the new ticket without penalty and at the same value as the original fare.
For agencies that support even exchanges, this functionality is available in Travelport+ through both:
- The Voluntary Change tab in Assisted Ticketing
Terminal Formats
The /EVEN modifier can be added to TMUFEX or TKPFEX entries. This modifier can also be combined with other applicable exchange modifiers. The modifier is applied in both the automatic and manual processing flows.

The PNR/Booking File is displayed with the EVEN added in the T line.
Travelport+ applies the EVEN modifier as part of the ticket exchange to make an exchange for the same amount as the original ticket. The original ticket fare is replaced with the current stored fare to make the exchange even.
