Synchronizing Car, Hotel, and Air Segment Data: HBDJD
You can set up the GlobalWare Apollo interface to update car bookings, hotel bookings, and regular/group air segments based on Passenger Name Record (PNR) data sent to GlobalWare as MIRs, which the Apollo HBDJD command issues.
How to Drive a DJD MIR
You can run the HBDJD command on a PNR, which issues a MIR and sends it to GlobalWare. If PNRs are sent to an Apollo queue for updates to car and hotel bookings, or to regular/group air segments, an agent or robotic can be set up to run an HBDJD command on those PNRs. The HBDJD command issues non-faring MIRs. Running the command will not negatively impact your PNRs. You can run the command manually or set it up to run automatically.
How GlobalWare Processes the DJD MIR
The Interface Setup area of the Apollo Interface screen has four options for updating car and hotel bookings in the GlobalWare database, based on MIRs issued by the Apollo DJD driving command.
- Add New Bookings – Adds car and hotel bookings that have been added.
-
Cancel Existing Bookings – Cancels existing car and hotel bookings that have been canceled. This option also cancels duplicates, leaving only the last interfaced booking in GlobalWare.
Note: If your PNR includes only one hotel or car segment, perform the following required steps to cancel it.
-
Add a passive segment.
Example: 0TURZZBK1CHI29OCT-**HBDJD CXLD SEGMENT**
- Cancel the booking.
- Issue the HBDJD command to update GlobalWare with the cancellation.
-
- Update Existing Bookings – Updates existing car and hotel bookings that have been changed.
-
Do Not Update with Zero – Does not update car and hotel bookings if no rates (zero amounts) were booked.
Note: While this option does not allow updates to car and hotel bookings that have no rates booked, you can prevent automatic updates of individual invoices, regardless of rates booked, by selecting the No Auto-Update check box on the Invoice screen. For more information, see GlobalWare's Using the Invoice Screen help topic.
The Interface Setup area also has two options for updating air segments, based on MIRs issued by the Apollo DJD driving command.
- Allow Group Segment Updates – Updates group segments that have been changed.
- Allow Invoice Segment Updates – Updates regular segments (non-group tracking segments for travel) that have been changed.
It is recommended that you select all these options together. After the update process finishes, car and hotel bookings in the GlobalWare database, as well as invoice and group air segments, will be synchronized with the MIRs.
Notes:
- MIRs do not impact manually added car and hotel bookings.
- Agents should not segment select when issuing the DJD MIR. They should use standard HBDJD format.
- The Invoice Change Log documents all updates and DJD additions under agent ***.
