Saving and Opening Documents

To save work you have done in a document displayed on the GlobalWare Word Processor screen:

  1. On the File menu, click Save.

    Note: You can also save the document by clicking the Save () icon on the toolbar.

  2. On the Save As screen that appears, navigate to the location where you want to save the file.
  3. Type a file name of up to eight characters in the File name field.

    Note: The default file type is Rich Text Format (.rtf), which is a text format that allows formatting and can easily be read by other word processors.

  4. Click Save.

Opening a Previously Saved File

To open a previously saved file from the GlobalWare Word Processor screen:

  1. On the File menu, click Open.

    Note: You can also open a document by clicking the Open () icon on the toolbar.

  2. On the Open screen that appears, navigate to the desired file, and then click Open.

    GlobalWare displays the document in the GlobalWare Word Processor screen.

Note: If you create a file in another word processor to be used in a mail merge, make sure you save the file in Rich Text Format (.rtf) to preserve your formatting.
