CruiseCabinHold_1_0 decrements the vendor's inventory and holds a selected cabin. The amount of time a cabin is held varies by vendor, although cabins are typically held for 15 to 30 minutes. In the cruise industry, holding a cabin is often referred to a "reserving" a cabin, although this function is not an actual booking.
If the booking process is not completed within the hold period, the cabin is returned to the vendor's inventory. If the user exits the cabin reservation process within the hold period, the cabin should be released, which returns the held cabin back to the vendor's inventory. While releasing the cabin is not a required procedure, releasing the cabin is a valuable courtesy for maintaining a professional relationship with the vendor.
See the Cruises Processes topic in the main help for more details about the cruise booking process.
